Aruba's Foss Loss

Wireless LAN switch supplier Aruba Wireless Networks has confirmed an Unstrung message board posting that Walter Foss -- central regional manager and investor in the startup -- has left the company.

Foss is a friend of new-ish Aruba CEO Don LeBeau, and the poster suggests that his departure could indicate "problems in Aruba world". But Aruba says the real explanation is much simpler.

"He’s no longer with Aruba," writes David Calisch, communications director at Aruba, in an email reply to questions. "He was brought in to 'spin up' our central regional sales stuff. He did that really well then moved on. Simple as that. He IS [DC's capitals] and remains a good friend of Don’s and an exuberant investor."[Ed. note: Just what is an "exuberant investor" when he/she/it is at home?]

This is by no means the only departure that Unstrung has been hearing about in the wider world of wireless this Thanksgiving week. In fact, we might be tempted to call it a bit of a wireless turkey shoot, if we had even a little bit of holiday spirit left in our jaded journo souls.
