SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (NASDAQ: AMCC), also known as AppliedMicro, today announced significant business traction with coherent optical module suppliers, reporting that eight of the world's largest optical module manufacturers and vertically-integrated 100G systems companies are actively designing solutions based on the AppliedMicro S28032 multiplexer, the industry's fastest, lowest power transmitter solution manufactured in a CMOS process.
Acacia Communications, a leader in delivering intelligent subsystems for ultra-high speed fiber optic transmission, is deploying the AppliedMicro S28032 in its AC100 module, used by telecommunications equipment companies in both regional and long haul networks. AppliedMicro will demonstrate both solutions in its booth at OFC/NFOEC, Corporate Village, Booth #1083.
