AOL Bundles Movielink VOD with Broadband Service

America Online has extended its relationship with Internet video download service Movielink. Through the deal, AOL for Broadband subscribers will get free downloads of select Movielink classic titles and discounts on recent releases. During the first month of the program, ten classic Movielink titles are available for free. Thereafter, five new classic titles will be available monthly to AOL for Broadband as free downloads. Additionally, select studio films are available to AOL for Broadband customers for 99 cents, which is 80 percent off Movielink's regular price of $4.99. After downloading a movie, which can be stored on the user's hard drive for up to 30 days, unlimited viewing is available for 24 hours. By bundling video on demand (VOD), AOL demonstrates the unique capabilities of broadband service. A nice move as the company works to migrate its dial-up customers to faster connections.
