What if Internet service providers (ISPs) could lower the cost of delivering video while also guaranteeing quality and possibly opening up new revenue streams? With a new product called MediaSwift, Allot Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALLT) says ISPs can do just that.

MediaSwift works by combining caching and deep packet inspection capabilities to manage the delivery of streaming video and peer-to-peer (P2P) file transfers from within ISP networks.

The launch of the new product comes at an opportune time, as annual global IP traffic is expected to exceed two thirds of a zettabyte (667 exabytes) by 2013, according to research by Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO). And that growth will be led by video.
