PLAINVIEW, N.Y. -- Aeroflex Incorporated (Nasdaq: ARXX), a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of microelectronics and automated testing solutions for the broadband communications market, announced today that it has acquired privately held California based TriLink Communications Corporation for approximately 1.2 million shares of Aeroflex common stock. TriLink designs, develops and manufactures Lithium Niobate optical components which are used as building blocks in state-of-the-art fiber optic communication systems. TriLink currently offers a line of modulators for the 10G (OC 192) DWDM market.

“The acquisition of TriLink adds key optical components to our growing portfolio of proprietary fiber optic modules,” said Len Borow, Executive Vice President. “Incorporating Lithium Niobate technology into our array of strategic technologies will allow us to drive our products deeper into the broadband communications systems value chain. This acquisition complements Aeroflex’s recent purchase of modulator driver manufacturer Aeroflex Amplicomm, as modulator drivers and modulators are dependent on one another for operation. In effect, this acquisition will allow Aeroflex’s modulator driver division to more than double its sales potential and further leverage the Company’s position as a strategic partner to leading fiber optic systems manufacturers.”
