HAMBURG, Germany -- Adaptif Photonics GmbH (www.adaptif.de) has announced therelease of important upgrades to their successful A2000 Component Analyserfamily. These upgrades boost throughput and accuracy in combination with seamlessintegration into automated manufacturing systems.A new internal referencing capability greatly improves accuracy and precision forPMD/DGD, PDL and insertion loss measurements. The C and L bands can be sweptwithin 8 seconds with an accuracy of 0.01dB for PDL and a repeatability for PMD ofwell below 10 femtoseconds.

Adaptif’s proprietary measurement scheme is based on the JME method, deliveringaccurate results even when operating in harsh environments. A great robustnessagainst fiber movements and drifts eliminates the need for taping fiber patch cordsto the table. The new A2000 units include an industrial PC with touch screen and an intuitive userinterface. These new test instruments produce high throughput in production test stations, dramatically reducing test costs without compromising measurement quality.

Integration of these products into manufacturing systems is supported through allpopular automation and remote control interfaces.According to Dr. Harald Rosenfeldt, Adaptif’s CTO, “These new instruments introducea new level of performance in optical component test and verification which has notbeen available before.”
